An unusual view of King Power stadium in Leicester today. The crowds were already building by 1:30pm for a 5:30pm kick off.
Leicester City have won the league for the first time in their history. The building in the foreground on the left is named “Filbert Village” and is on the site of the club’s old stadium at Filbert Street.
As I’m writing this page the TV commentator has just said “Manchester United have spent more money on transfers in the last 2 years than Leicester City have spent in their history”. It’s easy to understand why the area was one big street party today.
Sports journalists, gospel choirs, fun fairs. They were all there.
