It’s strange to think that Trig points are only 80 years old. It feels as if they’ve been there forever.
This is the trig pillar at Croft Hill. To give it the correct name a Triangulation Station.
There were 6500 erected. The ordnance survey has a wonderful blog post about the subject from April this year.
This particular trig pillar is the one I leaned my camera on for the pictures of the turbines.
